{"id":1785,"date":"2025-11-06T14:43:06","date_gmt":"2025-11-06T14:43:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.characterandleadership.org\/?p=1785"},"modified":"2025-12-03T10:26:38","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T10:26:38","slug":"centre-director-for-the-character-education-programme-presents-at-the-association-for-moral-education-conference-tampere-finland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.characterandleadership.org\/index.php\/2025\/11\/06\/centre-director-for-the-character-education-programme-presents-at-the-association-for-moral-education-conference-tampere-finland\/","title":{"rendered":"Centre Director for the Character Education\u00a0Programme Presents at the Association for Moral Education Conference, Tampere, Finland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"246\" data-end=\"497\">From <strong data-start=\"251\" data-end=\"277\">7th to 9th August 2025<\/strong>, the Centre Director for the <strong data-start=\"307\" data-end=\"340\">Character Education Programme<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"342\" data-end=\"360\">Peter King\u2019ori<\/strong>, represented the institution at the <strong data-start=\"397\" data-end=\"454\">51st Association for Moral Education (AME) Conference<\/strong> held at <strong data-start=\"463\" data-end=\"494\">Tampere University, Finland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"689\">The annual conference brought together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from over <strong data-start=\"593\" data-end=\"609\">40 countries<\/strong> under the theme <em data-start=\"626\" data-end=\"687\">\u201cCaring About and For Others: Teaching &amp; Learning to Care.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"691\" data-end=\"1012\">During the event, Peter presented his research titled <strong data-start=\"745\" data-end=\"842\">\u201cCultivation of Character Strengths Among Adolescent Students Through Positive Intervention.\u201d<\/strong> His presentation highlighted the importance of nurturing character strengths such as <strong data-start=\"928\" data-end=\"991\">humility, gratitude, forgiveness, courage, and self-control<\/strong> among adolescents.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1014\" data-end=\"1317\">Peter emphasized that developing these strengths can motivate students to act ethically, engage responsibly in society, and demonstrate democratic values. He noted that schools should create environments where adolescents can internalize, practice, and model these character traits in meaningful ways.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1319\" data-end=\"1707\">In addition, Peter serves as a <strong data-start=\"1370\" data-end=\"1425\">Board Member of the Association for Moral Education<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1430\" data-end=\"1475\">Chairperson of the Poster Award Committee<\/strong>.
